Sanitary Fish Market and Restaurant

We loved our visit! Debbie was amazing, she had worked there for more than 35 years. Service was phenomenal, she was funny and lovely! My oysters were huge and delicious. The view from the back deck was awesome watching the boats come back to dock at sunset. This place is a treasure.

Our main entrees were prepared correctly and arrived fairly quickly. Our server was excellent and provided frequent checks on us. However, I have never experienced anything like their “hush puppies”…. the word horrible doesn’t do them justice. Brick hard and absolutely tasteless ?. I didn’t realize that something that is usually so good (everywhere else) could be prepared so poorly …

While visiting my son and his wife I had the opportunity to dine at the Sanitary. The view from our table was nice, and we enjoyed a basket of piping hot hush puppies while we waited for our meal to arrive. It took a bit of time to get our food, but it was definitely worth the wait.
Shrimp grits were my choice, the kids ordered fried shrimp, fish, and grilled chicken. We were pleased with the portions, I had plenty of food to fill my to-go box. We did NOT have room for dessert, so we took some home with us instead! I have to say, their pies are beyond delicious.

Went here for lunch today and had the fish tacos and oysters on a half shell. Both were amazing. The hostess’s food suggestion were perfect and our waiter, PJ was great. The scenery was absolutely awesome!! Highly recommend eating here!

Food is okay. It lacked a little flavor but wasn’t horrible. The best part of this place is the atmosphere.
