  1. What a treasured piece of history! The buildings and grounds make you feel like you took a step back in time. So many different dining areas, rooms to stay and absolutely delicious food! The Yankee Pot roast had such a terrific flavor, the clam chowder, burger, chicken fingers and fries were also good and the rolls and cornbread were divine. The service was top notch and our every need was met. Would love to come back in the summer to see the gardens! So glad places like this were saved from development. The Chapel and Grist mill were added in the 1900’s by Henry Ford, but seem to just fit in with the area and help give a glimpse of a time long gone. Would 100% recommend this Inn!

  2. Had lunch with family. Nice ambience and food is good. Staff was very friendly. But they could work on their service. Food was late and we had to remind them multiple times to bring out our beverages even though it was not too busy. For an establishment of this calibre, it was somewhat disappointing service.

  3. Unique and historic dining experience. Great menu that provides classic New England fair for an authentic meal fitting for a storied restaurant with a couple centuries of historic characters as guests.

  4. My family has enjoyed going to this restaurant for four generations that I am certain of. If my great-grandfather were the one who first took my grandfather to it, that would make five!!
The historical decor cannot be adequately appreciated by reading mere words of a review. Upon first entering, you feel history all around you. It even has the scent of welcoming and dependable establishment.
The food is terrific and very reasonably priced. I very often get their SCROD as I’ve never found it better elsewhere. But their prime rib or lobster casserole is calling me!
Although I grew up nearby, I moved to IL in 1975 for school and never got a chance to move back to Massachusetts. However, whenever I’m back visiting family, it’s always on my list of “must-do re-dos!!” Enjoy!!

  5. Good food, good and powerful drinks, good service! Beautiful surroundings! Tons of colonial charm! You can almost imagine how it would feel if you were a colonial coming in for a drink and some food!
We looked around, had some lunch, and visited the grist mill! We didn’t have a room so it was just a day trip! Thoroughly enjoyed the visit!
