  1. We dined here while visiting family in Louisville. The restaurant building has a rich history and the atmosphere here is very upscale. The service was impeccable, and Melanie W. did an outstanding job of serving a table of four. We had 2 bottles of Decoy red wine, and it was perfect for our meals. We started with the She Crab soup that was excellent. My wife & I had the Wedge salad which was fresh, tasty and the buttermilk dressing was outrageous. The entrees included diver scallops, steak fillet, lobster tempura and venison. Everyone enjoyed their dish and complimented it. The side vegetables were fresh & cooked just right. I tasted my wife’s steak, and it was so tender. They gave us sorbet to cleanse the pallet before a molten cake dessert. Note: The table & service moved quickly here which I LIKE but some may want to slow it down a bit. We realized this place fills up its reservations and they are on track to make sure everyone is seated at their reserved time.

  2. Had dinner here tonight based on reviews by others, and let me tell you, it’s everything it’s cracked up to be. Everything from the food to the staff was top notch. We were fortunate to have Michael as our waiter. He was extremely helpful with steering us in all the right directions with our appetizers and our main courses. Scallops, to die for. Steaks, to die for. Shrimp and grits, to die for. Can’t say enough good things about this place. We will be returning for sure!

  3. Came here with family (5 in total – all adults). The only issue we had was that we made a reservation for the dining room but the table was not ready. We waited 20 minutes for our table and we eventually did get a table in the bar area. The staff was apologetic and compensated the wait with dessert.

For appetizers, would definetely recommend the fried green tomatoes and the goat cheese tart.

There was a nice variety of drinks from whiskey to wine.

All the entrees we ordered were fairly heavy so definetely go with plenty of room in your stomach.

Recommend Blackened Redfish or Shrimp and grits for non steak entrees.

Also really enjoyed the palate cleansers between the courses. I think the corn fritter cleanser needs to be expanded to a full appetizer.

All in all… had a rocky start to our visit but ended on a wonderful high.

  4. We had a lovely date night here. We both ordered a steak (the filet and the NY strip) and they were the best steaks we’ve had in the area. Portions were a nice size. We were so pleasantly surprised with the palate cleanser, little one bite appetizer, and the bread. We also got a piece of the red velvet cheesecake to take home and it was so creamy and flavorful and a huge piece.

I believe our waitress was named Julia, but I might have that wrong. She was so good at her job and made our experience there so pleasant. We will be back!

  5. The service was very friendly and helpful. We we’re waiting a bit past our reservation but they were very up front and apologized that the family at our table was taking too long to leave. They even gave us free dessert and some appetizers. But the food was exceptional, i highly recommend the blackened red fish with creamed corn. It was a tender meaty fish and very comforting without tasting too heavy. Very cozy and relaxing atmosphere.
